White Horse Bakery, Holme: A Must-Visit Dog-Friendly Bakery in North Norfolk

If you’re planning a dog-friendly trip to North Norfolk, consider this your sign to add White Horse Bakery to your itinerary.

Located in the beautiful village of Holme, White Horse Bakery is one of those places that immediately feels like a treat. From the stunning interiors to the incredible selection of baked goods, it is the perfect place to stop for a coffee, breakfast or a well-earned pastry after exploring the North Norfolk coast.

It opened a couple of years ago now and has firmly become one of my favourite stop-offs. And the best bit? Dogs are welcome too!

Dogs are allowed inside the bakery as well as in the outdoor seating areas, making it a brilliant place to visit if you're exploring North Norfolk with your four-legged friend.

The bakery serves a range of food and drinks alongside its freshly baked goods, but honestly, the pastries are absolutely worth the visit alone.

The pain au chocolat was incredible – the kind where you immediately regret only ordering one and start wondering whether it would be socially acceptable to order another five to take home...

It’s no wonder that White Horse Bakery has been recognised as one of Britain’s top 50 bakeries by the Good Food Guide. Having visited myself, I can confidently say the baked goods are absolutely 10/10.

And we haven’t even talked about the interior.

The bakery has this gorgeous shabby-chic farmhouse vibe and has the aesthetic nailed. When you walk in, you can’t help but notice the huge wheat installation hanging from the ceiling above – it really is one of those places where you immediately want to take a photo.

Exploring Holme with your dog

The bakery is located in Holme, one of my favourite stretches of the North Norfolk coast.

It’s quieter than some of the area's more popular beaches, and the huge expanse of white sand stretches for miles. White Horse Bakery would make the perfect stop-off after a blustery walk along the beach.

Sounds like a pretty perfect day to me!

My favourite walk around here takes you down through the golf course and onto the beach, stopping off at the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Dunes Café before making your way inland towards Drove Orchards.

Here, you can wander around the independent shops before heading back towards the beach and returning to Holme.

The route is around 8 miles and is one of my favourite walks in North Norfolk. You can find the full route here.
